All About Giclee Prints

​While shopping around we encourage you to follow the guidelines below to make sure the giclee printing methods result in true archival prints. ​​​

What are Giclee Prints?

Giclee Prints are archival reproductions of original 2D artworks, such as oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings meant to last 100 years. To be a true giclee print, these features must be present: 

  • 100% Archival Paper and Canvas.

  • Archival Pigmented Inks - the Ink must be pigmented and not dye.

  • Printed on a Wide Format Ink Jet Printer (up to 64" wide) - not a a standard everyday household printer. 

  • A minimum of 8 colors must be used in the printer.
